Australian Indigenous Basketball All Stars Blues Coach


Frankston Blues is proud to announce the involvement of their Under 18 Boys -Team 1 Head Coach and Boys Coordinator Ricky Baldwin, as Assistant Coach in Apunipima Australian Indigenous Basketball All Stars.

The team have headed to Vancouver, Canada to compete in the World Indigenous Basketball Challenge (WIBC) from the 9th to 12th August.

Baldwin accompanied the Men’s team last weekend in Brisbane for a training camp before their departure. 

Head Coach of the squad, Joel Khalu said “Was fantastic having Rick involved as an Assistant Coach in our Australian Indigenous All Stars training camp this past weekend.”

“He brings a wealth of hoops knowledge and being a player that’s represented the Australian Indigenous team in years past, he’s a tremendous mentor for our younger players.”

“We really appreciate him taking the time to travel from Melbourne to Brisbane and help us with our WIBC preparations.” 

“We’re excited about him re-joining our staff for our Trans-Tasman series against the New Zealand Maori National Team being held in Cairns later in the year.”

The team’s first official WIBC game on 10 Aug 2:30pm (AEST) against Team Vancouver
